​Chocolate Orange Mousse

This time around, I had my little chef to help me out in the kitchen while making this dessert. Her help consisted of tasting the mix now and then and saying “super..Super….👌” 😜
The best way to start the weekend is with a good tasty dessert and moreover, it was my sister’s birthday so I decided to indulge myself with some Chocolate orange mousse.😋
Like every girl, my sister too loves chocolate..Though she is far away from me, I dedicate this dish to her.😍
Recipe 
Serves 5

Ingredients:
Chocolate Orange Mousse:

  • Dark Chocolate: 150 gm, chopped
  • Egg: 4, 
  • Powdered sugar: 1/2 cup
  • Orange juice: extracted from 1 orange
  • Salt: a pinch

Orange Syrup (optional):

  • Orange juice: 3 tspn sugar
  • Unsalted butter: 1 tspn,melted
  • Sugar: 2 tspn

Method:
Chocolate Orange Mousse:

  1. In a sauce pan, pour little water and boil.
  2. Place a bowl on it, add the chopped chocolate. 
  3. Stir it with spatula occasionally until it has melted completely.
  4. In a pan, boil the orange juice. Add a pinch of salt.
  5. Keep it aside and let it cool.
  6. Meanwhile, separate the egg whites and yolks into 2 bowls.
  7. Whisk the egg yolks until it turns pale yellow and fluffy.
  8. Pour it in the melted chocolate and fold it well.
  9. In a bowl, whisk the eggs white.
  10. When the foam starts to appear, add the powdered sugar and whisk until it forms soft peak.
  11. Now mix the meringue mix into chocolate mix and fold it with a spatula.
  12. Along with it add 2 tbspn of orange juice.
  13. Fold it until it is mixed well.
  14. Refrigerate it for 4-5 hours or overnight.

Orange Syrup:

  1. In the left over orange juice, add sugar and butter.
  2. Let it boil until it is reduced to half.

Serve the mousse with chocolate syrup and lots of love.
Tips: 

  • If more sweetness is needed, add more sugar to the orange juice.
