Banana Fritters

This time, I bring forth to you another snack for the evening time…The banana fritters(pazham pori in malayalam) brings back a whole lot of childhood memories. Every time I visit my native, this snack is a must…it fills my appetite and heart…Now it warms my heart watching my 2 year old having it with the same vigour….. 🙂

The banana commonly used is the plantain banana. Living in bangalore, it is sometimes hard to get these from the market, but thanks to the online shopping era we live in now, I just sit home and wait for the delivery 😜The recipe below is one with my own touch..

Recipe

Serves 5(depends on your appetite 😉 )

Ingredients

Banana(plantain fruit)- 3, cut into half and sliced

All purpose flour(maida)- 1/2 cup

Wheat flour- 1/2 cup

Rice flour/semolina- 1 tbspn( gives crispiness to the fritters)

Sugar- 3 tspn

Salt- 1 pinch

Cinnamon powder-1 tspn

Cardamom powder- 2 pinch

Baking powder- 2 pinch

Water-1 cup

Low fat Oil

Method:
1. To make the dough, mix all purpose flour, wheat flour,rice flour/semolina, salt, sugar, cinnamon powder and cardamom powder, baking powder and water. Mix until there are no lumps.

2. Dip the sliced banana in the dough and deep fry in the oil.

3. Serve it hot.

Note: The mix should not be watery.
